On the left side of the page header there are 2 or 3 symbols. This is what they do.
☰ The international symbol for "menu". When you move your mouse over it or when you tap it on a mobile, a drop-down menu opens. When you move your cursor outside the menu or when you tap outside the menu, it will close. On some devices, especially under operating system iOS, the drop-down function doesn't work. The next symbol offers a solution.
ⓘ The international symbol for "information point". When you click or tap on this symbol a classic menu page will open. This works on all devices and serves as a fallback.

Just click or tap an image on the overview page, i.e. the list of brochures per brand. That's all.

Images are compressed of course but viewing a brochure may result in a lot of data traffic. The average brochure size is 1.65Mb. So be advised that the most economical way to view a brochure on a mobile device is over Wifi.
This site is designed with the KISS principle in mind: keep it stupid simple. The purpose of the Museum is to show brochures, everything else is a waste. That is the reason I use pure HTML and CSS. Unfortunately one cannot turn pages in HTML, so I had to rely on Javascript as well. I use standard applications for the pageturning function and the slideshow function, simply because I didn't have a few years time to develop it all by myself. I think I have found the best apps for a decent price.

For slideshow style browsing I use Lightbox 2 designed by Lokesh Dhakar. It is free to use, but I send him a donation every time I download an upgrade. He deserves it. Visit the website if you are interested: Lightbox 2
The site is hosted by Robohost. This is the cheapest reliable host I could find in the Netherlands. For around 40 euros per year I get 10Gb storage, unlimited data traffic, domain name and SSL cetificate. Unfortunately I could not find an English version of their site. Afbeeldingen zijn natuurlijk gecomprimeerd, maar evengoed gaat het bekijken gepaard met een hoop dataverkeer. De gemiddelde brochuregrootte is 1.65Mb. Op een mobiel apparaat kun je brochures dus beter met behulp van Wifi bekijken.

Jammer genoeg kun je (nog) geen bladzijden omslaan of een diavoorstelling maken in pure HTML, daarvoor heb je bijv. Javascript nodig. Ik gebruik standaard oplossingen voor het bladeren en voor de diavoorstelling, voornamelijk omdat ik niet jaren de tijd heb om die functies zelf te ontwikkelen. De gekozen pakketten zijn volgens mij de beste die ik voor een redelijke prijs kon vinden.
